Welcome, Schedule, Tips

Hello and welcome to the Virtual Learning Leadership Alliance (VLLA) Winter/Spring Book Study for "UDL in the Cloud: How to Design and Deliver Online Education Using Universal Design for Learning" by Katie Novak and Tom Thibodeau. We have found great value in these collaborative professional learning experiences and we are excited about starting this new book club journey with all of you.

Please note that there are pages along the right side navigation where you will find the discussion questions posted for readings covered each week, as well as other pertinent information. Please note that some pages are blank and those food for thought questions will be posed at the start of that week by the VLLA member organization moderating the discussion that week. However, if you get there sooner feel free to leave your reflection, ideas, questions etc.

As always, we welcome you to post your thoughts to those prompts posed at the start of each week but encourage you to make this your own learning experience. It is okay to respond to the prompt or to pose your own questions, comments etc. to make this experience your own.

SCHEDULE:

  • Week 0: March 3rd-9th Introductions and familiarize yourself with blog features, content, navigation
  • Week 1: March 10th-16th Chapter 1 and Chapter 2
  • Week 2: March 17th-23rd Chapter 3
  • Week 3: March 24th-30th Chapter 4 and Chapter 5
  • Week 4: March 31st-April 6th Chapter 6 and 7
  • Week 5: April 7th-13th Chapter 8 and Appendix

How to Comment on Blog prompts each week:
  1. Under the blog post you want to click on comment to enter your comment.
  2. Compose your comment and click on publish. Note: You can check the box "notify me" if you want to get emails when someone replies to your comment.

Please make sure to set up and use your blogger profile and not Google Plus. Why? Google+ is going away for the general public (free, non-educational) accounts. While you could log into Blogger with your Google+ account, once Google drops Google+, your posts will disappear. If you already logged in with your Google+ account (or if you are not sure and want to check), these directions will help once in blogger.

Welcome and let the conversation and cloud collaboration begin.
